Pearleen Mofford – Event Founder
For almost 15 years, Pearleen Mofford has been at the helm of Rapport Communications Inc., a business that has built its foundation working within the key industries of tourism and hospitality, transportation and business development. Known for always dreaming big, Pearleen is the driving force behind Right Some Good!
Coming from a family of chefs that spans three generations, Pearleen brings her passion for food and music to Cape Breton Island to create a truly extraordinary foodie adventure. Right Some Good is the only one of it’s kind. Pearleen is committed to strengthening the local food movement and creating a culinary environment of collaboration and mentorship. She and her team that bring a commitment and dedication to Cape Breton’s delicious future!
Chef Alain Bosse – International Culinary Director
For the past three years, the Kilted Chef Alain Bosse has lead the international team of chefs for the Right Some Good culinary event. He works closely with Local Culinary Director to ensure the finest local ingredients are at the heart of every dish developed by the visiting master chefs. Alain is president of Alain Bosse Consulting Ltd, food editor for Saltscapes Magazine, food contributor of the Union Jack News, past president of Taste of Nova Scotia, and ambassador of all things culinary in Atlantic Canada.
A veteran in the local food and hospitality industries, he has represented Atlantic Canada in various initiatives to help promote some of our local commodities such as lobsters, mussels, apples, potatoes and wild blueberries to name a few. His travel has included trips to Europe, United States and Canada giving presentations to Chefs, future Chefs and owner- operators on the use of Atlantic Canadian products and their flexibility.
His passion for the “buy local, eat local” philosophy is apparent in all his restaurant make over’s and is constantly reiterated in his recipe development and work with local producers and processors. Chef Alain’s diverse experience and passionate involvement is a key ingredient to this project’s success!

Chef Ardon Mofford – Local Culinary Director
Chef Ardon Mofford was raised in St. Peter’s, Cape Breton Island and grew up in the family run hotel with his sister Pearleen the Right Some Good event founder. Ardon first learned to deliver great food and customer service from his father, Chef Ardon Senior. Chef Ardon graduated from CBU and is Red Seal certified. He is currently Owner and Executive Chef of Governor’s Pub & Eatery in Sydney. Governor’s brings together Chef Ardon’s love for the sea as well as his Celtic and Caribbean roots as inspiration for his signature cuisine.
There’s a taste of Nova Scotia in each of his dishes with a tireless commitment to local sustainable food, where fresh is always on the menu. His commitment to delivering excellence is reflected in his involvement in many culinary projects and he is presently culinary director of the award winning world-class foodie adventure Right Some Good.
Chef Ardon has traveled to Quingdao, Bejing China, Belfast, New York City and Tennessee representing Nova Scotia. Governor’s has established itself as one of Cape Breton’s premier eating establishments and recently named by Taste of Nova Scotia as a must stop destination for excellent local culinary experience.
